Building stronger futures for artists.

ArtWRK Collaborative exists to help artists build sustainable creative careers while partnering with the institutions shaping the future of the arts.

Our Founder

Hi, I'm Cherise Royal.

I'm an arts leader, marketer, educator, and researcher passionate about helping artists build meaningful, sustainable careers.

Throughout my career, I've worked at the intersection of marketing, entrepreneurship, higher education, and the arts. Across every role, one question continued to emerge:

How can we better prepare artists for sustainable careers?

That question became my passion. And that passion became ArtWRK Collaborative.

Today, I work with individual artists and institutions to bridge the gap between creative practice and professional opportunity through workshops, consulting, speaking, and research-informed programming.

Our Philosophy

Artists deserve systems that support long-term success.

We believe creative careers are built through the intersection of artistic practice, entrepreneurial thinking, community, and opportunity. Rather than treating these as separate conversations, ArtWRK brings them together to help artists and institutions create lasting impact.

Artist Enterprise Methodology

The research-informed methodology that guides ArtWRK.

Developed through graduate research in arts leadership, Warp & Weft: Artist Enterprise Methodology provides a holistic framework for preparing artists to build sustainable careers by weaving together creative development, professional practice, entrepreneurial thinking, and community support.

Our Principles

Art comes first

Creative practice is the foundation. Professional development should strengthen artistic work and return agency to the artist.

Momentum through community

Creative work grows stronger through collaboration, accountability, and shared learning.

Artist-centered systems

Artists thrive when access, education, and systems are intentionally built around their success.

Build for the long term

We're interested in long-term consistent sustainability, not quick wins or trend chasing.

We build what's possible.
